16 year old Georgia Hillsbery, originally from England, tries to navigate her way through the Los Angeles high school system while keeping a low profile, so as not to let on that she has an accent and stands out. To pass time, she keeps a journal and video chats with her best friend, Zoe, who is back in England. But one day, a girl named Lane comes crashing into class, late as usual, falling into the seat next to Georgia, and suddenly everything changes. Georgia can't get away with having no friends. But does she truly want to be alone in California?
